II. Course Description:
*Students will review and build upon previously learned math skills. Students will also be introduced to skills such as algebra, surface area and volume that can be applied in real-world situations.
III: Course Objectives:
*RATIOS AND PROPORTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
àUnderstand ratio concepts and use ratio reasoning to solve problems.
*THE NUMBER SYSTEM
àApply and extend previous understanding of multiplication and division to divide fractions by fractions.
àMultiply and divide multi-digit numbers and find common factors and multiples.
àApply and extend previous understanding of numbers to the system of rational numbers.
*EXPRESSIONS AND EQUATIONS
àApply and extend previous understandings of arithmetic to algebraic expressions
àReason about and solve one-variable equations and inequalities.
àRepresent and analyze quantitative relationships between dependent and independent variables.
àSolve real-world and mathematical problems involving area, surface area and volume.
*STATISTICS AND PROBABILITY
àDevelop understanding of statistical variability.
àSummarize and describe distributions.

*1-Subject (spiral) composition book, pencils, paper, and pen (for checking papers)
